East Hall School

East Hall School is an independent special school located in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, catering to mixed-gender students with a focus on social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 16 pupils and currently enrolling 13, the school provides a nurturing environment that prioritises the emotional wellbeing of its students. Many attendees have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and have faced challenges that impact their educational engagement.

The curriculum at East Hall School is designed for Key Stage 4 students, offering a range of GCSE subjects alongside City and Guilds vocational qualifications. The school places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, utilising its extensive 2000-acre estate to enhance educational experiences. Recent achievements include a 100% pass rate in GCSE English and Maths and significant improvements in students’ reading and confidence levels.
