I do not see what purpose it serves to suggest this is still open to any negotiation. Absolute clarity is owed to those parents who have children going into the secondary phase. The paragraph entitled 'Secondary Provision' ought really to alert parents to the critical issue, which is that they need to apply for an alternative secondary school place immediately in the new term.\nThe school curriculum will be changing significantly in order that SAB is able to 'improve radically on the KS2 outcomes in 2020'. Again, for the sake of absolute transparency, it would be helpful if the Avanti Curriculum Intent document referred to in your letter were attached to the letter sent out today. This would enable parents to remind themselves of Avanti's intent and come to considered decisions about whether or not SAB remains the best place for their child. I, for example, would not want my child to participate in collective daily worship, and armed with the relevant information I can choose an alternative for him if necessary.\nYour letter refers to the fact that SAB will be pressing ahead with Phonics screening, KS1 and KS2 testing. This seems to me to be one of the most significant and noteworthy departures from the original plans for the school, its ethos and its values. At the very least, I feel that parents need an explanation that is clear and straightforward that explains the need to make this departure.
