Bradford Alternative Provision Academy

Bradford Alternative Provision Academy (BAPA) serves secondary-aged students in Bradford who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools. With a capacity of 65 pupils, the academy currently supports 57 students across three main sites: Aireview in Saltaire, Jesse Street at Fairweather Green, and Citview in Bowling. BAPA aims to provide a safe and structured environment that fosters re-engagement with learning, allowing students to either return to mainstream education or transition to more specialist settings.

The curriculum at BAPA focuses on core subjects such as English, maths, and reading, with additional support for social skills and personal development. Students are offered tailored placements, ranging from short-term turnaround programs to long-term support until they reach compulsory school age. This bespoke approach ensures that individual learning needs are met, and assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) are conducted when necessary.

BAPA collaborates closely with families, schools, and external agencies, including a Safer Schools Police Officer, to provide comprehensive support for students. The academy's ethos revolves around creating positive relationships and a nurturing environment, enabling young people to overcome previous challenges and achieve their potential.
