Year 7 due to my ADHD I was ISOLATED lunchtime and breaktime. I was kept in isolation from year 7 to year 11. The school had no care how this affected my mental health and how it SEVERELY affected my knowledge and capability to assess risk and risky adults when leaving school. I was on report from year 7 to year 11 for whatever reason they could think of and if I got a decent report that week I'd be able to bring a friend with me to sit in isolation for lunch and break...a friend...yh ok...when I wasn't able to make friends because of being in isolation and would get told off and be put detention for trying to make friends during lessons!!\n\nLast day of high school I had been promised the day out of isolation at lunch so I could spend the last lunch with my few friends I had made. Come the food and nutrition lesson before lunch, with it being my last I told me teaching assistant I was upset. Next thing I knew I was being told I can't spend my last lunch outside with my friends!! I defied the odds and stayed out that lunch. However at the cost of immediate suspension til the GCSES started and being told I'd not be able to attend prom. It took for my dad to call the school and threaten to report this behaviour from the teachers and teaching assistants and SEN manager to the school leaders for them to agree to allow me at the prom providing I was supervised by my mother and only until 7:30!!!\n\nSchool is of dismall hygiene last I knew, absolutely dismall mental health knowledge and locking people away to make it a easy \"situation\" dealt with is NOT the answer for students with special needs. The scholastica centre was completely misused in my day. Especially for keeping vulnerable kids locked up. Which ultimately makes them more vulnerable as they don't learn the social skills needed to be able to identify risk and risky adults","languageCode":"en"},"originalText":{"text":"Absolutely dysmal. During my last year at the school (my GCSE year) i had 4 different English teachers, 2 of which left, showing their incapability to sustain their staff.\n\nThe Facilities the school provides can only be described as an inapplicable state: the Toilets (Mens) Don't come with soap, rarely have toilet paper, normally locked, no mirrors (have all been smashed and removed), some cubicles may not have locks, and there has been occasions where a pipe has broken and flooded the whole corridor or one of the doors had been kicked off. Majority of students have resorted to the disabled toilets as they are in a more acceptable state.\nThe school also offer free lockers to store your personal belongings, however we were never allowed to lock them, and you should not be surprised if your locker ever got kicked in.\nOf course most of these problems are the work of the students, however it does show the lack of control.\nThere are also exceptional facilities within the sixth form, and in the library, where any student of any age can volunteer and gain experience.\n\nThere are also rumours that the new head teacher is very much status driven and has very little care about the SEN children.\n\nHowever, without a doubt the large majority of teachers are very hard working and devoted. The teachers are friendly and always happy to help and if you are uncomfortable talking to the pastoral team you are always able to talk to your form tutor.\nThe teachers are also very well organised and work well together when it comes to running the school. Homework is regularly set and lessons are productive.\nTeachers with their own department are especially passionate about their work and care for that department to the best of their ability.\nThe pastoral team are very friendly, understanding, unbiased and easy to talk to.\nThe Teaching assistants that work with children with special educational needs are also very caring and devoted to providing those children with the best education possible.\nCaretakers are also very hard working and consistent, working the majority of the day to maintain the schools appearance.\n\nOverall, the school will undoubtedly provide a high quality education to those willing to learn, the facilities aren't the best, and there are concerns about the new head master and the rate of which staff are leaving.\nI would also say that the school is in desperate need of an Ofsted inspection","languageCode":"en"},"originalText":{"text":"During my time a this school i have seen 3 Head teachers come and go; for some absurd reason this doesn't call for an Ofsted inspection.
