Where is the scientifically proven basis for this to better than a standard 45-50 minute lesson? The lesson quickly decsended into chaos, driven by a group of boys at the back who basically took the piss the whole lesson, compounded by verbal-slanging match that broke out between two groups of girls.\nThat said, year 11s that I took for Maths were superb, once they head been set up for the lesson by one of the Maths teaching staff - who was, I think one of the most pleasant and technically best teachers I have ever seen, they flew and were totally independent.\nIn between these extremes was a year 7 class that I taught for sex-ed. Once we\u00e2\u0080\u0099d got over the shyness, the lesson flew. The boys, to their credit, knew a lot about \u00e2\u0080\u0098girlie\u00e2\u0080\u0099 things, and the girls were amazed that I could have the balls to dish out feminine hygiene products (part of the lesson plan btw), and go through how they worked. Respect to those kids!!\nI should also mention the members of management who came out to help with the year 8 debacle.
