reviews: [{"relativePublishTimeDescription":"a year ago","rating":4,"text":{"text":"Mr D'Cunha was an amazing head teacher - firm sometimes but always fair. He took a personal interest in everyone and really cared about us. He helped to get the school out of special measures too!\nMost of the teachers were so kind and understanding to me, even as my mental health deteriorated and affected my school work. I received a lot of support from the staff and they adjusted to my needs accordingly.\n\nThe only issue I had during high school was transitioning from the old building to the new building. I started high school in 2014, when it was called \"Suffolk New Academy\" and was placed in special measures. At that time, our old headteacher was being replaced, the school was being rebuilt and the school was renamed \"Chantry Academy\". Lots of big changes all at once!\nMy first year (Year 7) was spent in the old \"Chantry High School\" building and it was by far my favourite year. I believe this is partly due to the fact that (in my opinion) the design of the new building was poorly planned. Here's why:\n\nThere is not much space! I could never find a quiet place to have my break or a breather, so I would often sit in a toilet cubicle. The balconies surround the entire building, causing lots of distractions and noise. In the old school, my friends and I would sit on the grass outside to eat our lunch and mix with other year groups. I miss being able to have fresh air between classes, while on my break and a space to relax too.\nThe classrooms are identical and quite close to eachother, so it sometimes felt like every lesson blurred into one. The vast differences in the blocks for each subject was so beneficial in the old school. The art, drama and music blocks were my absolute favourite! There was always music playing and new art pieces on display - it was magical to me.\n\nAll in all, though, I had a pleasant experience here. I didn't take my GCSE exams, due to my health, so I never went on to further education. Some people might say I failed school, but I'm glad I took the time to recover and take care of myself - that's more important than grades to me! I made some great friends here and I hope other students can make new memories there too :)","languageCode":"en"},"originalText":{"text":"Mr D'Cunha was an amazing head teacher - firm sometimes but always fair.
