The way in which the school\u00e2\u0080\u0099s carefully planned induction process works is gradual, but progressive, providing a smooth transition into school life, taking children from their pre-summer holiday induction sessions through to full time schooling with ease.\nThe steady steps start with two 2 hour induction sessions before the summer holidays: (the first where parents stay for a coffee and a chat with other parents \u00e2\u0080\u0093 helping to ease our nerves a little too and the second where the child stays with the parents able to leave site.)\nAfter the summer holidays, there were 3 stages to easing the children in to school: Two days of morning sessions (08:50am \u00e2\u0080\u0093 11:30am) where Teacher home visits are also offered in the afternoons, followed by one week of half days, (08:50am-1:00pm), staying for lunch and then into full days (08:10am \u00e2\u0080\u0093 3:10pm) the following week. I found the process great for easing our daughter in steadily, with the gradual build-up of hours, but it also has minimal impact on working parents who may not be able to easily juggle a complex and lengthy timetable of taster sessions, before full time school commences.\nI have found the Reception teaching staff to be a professional and talented team who show lots of care and understanding to the children, but also provide welcomed reassurance to us parents too!
