reviews: [{"relativePublishTimeDescription":"a year ago","rating":1,"text":{"text":"This is actually a zero star review.\n\nMy son arrived at this school to enter Year 10 in December, COVID having caused us to relocate overseas. In the January, a further lockdown resulted in home schooling with the school taking the stand of \"no live lessons\", citing safeguarding. Utter nonsense I thought but said nothing. Something they later reversed. It was an appalling showing from a so called \"good\" school. My son hadn't had time to make friends when students finally returned to the classroom. After a year of school disruption for all children, when he developed severe problems with both feet, had three foot procedures and was told to wear breathable, loose fitting footwear, I was astounded when he was put in isolation (a term used by their own staff) for not wearing leather school shoes. I complained, citing the governments own guidance on uniforms. The executive head decided she was taking charge of the situation. During a meeting with her I was screamed at by her, ridiculed, she attempted to bully and humiliate me in-front of the then headteacher. Who, unsurprisingly, left after a short time and I doubt it was because she wasn't up to the job. She was the professional in the room during that meeting, not the \"executive head\" who behaved like a screaming peacock displaying its feathers in-front of her newly appointed subordinate. Having felt it would likely be wise, I recorded this meeting - it's scary listening. My sons mental health declined to the extent that he needed medication and counselling. They refused his counsellor from CANW access to him at the school, ignoring her calls and emails. A subject access request revealed he'd talked about self-harm to his tutor but I nor his father were contacted. When my son sent 10 text messages from school stating he was going to harm himself, I removed him. This was shortly prior to his GCSEs. He'd gone from being a top grade student to being estimated grade 3s, 4s or at most 5s at this so called \"good\" school. Despite his ongoing mental health the school had failed to apply for special consideration from the exam boards until I was forced to complain (again). I was threatened with unauthorised absences being recorded and a fine. I was called a vexatious complainant by Mrs Gwinnett, the bullying executive head. I've received emails from her, with a large number of her staff copied in, in which she effectively called me a bad parent - again, attempted bullying, ridicule and humiliation. Not the standard of behaviour that is permitted under the standards for Headteachers or public figures - which she apparently is. I've been threatened with \"conduct monitoring by (their) legal team\", in case I dare to publish the recorded meeting with her screaming.\n\nAfter time at home being tutored he passed all his exams, even a grade 7 in there.\n\nIf you have any choice at all, do not send your children to this school. I now have my son back; he is thriving at a truly outstanding college that this school said he likes wouldn't be able to go to.","languageCode":"en"},"originalText":{"text":"This is actually a zero star review.\n\nMy son arrived at this school to enter Year 10 in December, COVID having caused us to relocate overseas.
