Kirkby Stephen Grammar School

Kirkby Stephen Grammar School (KSGS) is a mixed secondary academy located in the Upper Eden Valley, serving approximately 388 students aged 11 to 18. The school prides itself on its small size, which fosters a strong sense of community and allows for tailored support to help each student reach their full potential. KSGS is committed to creating an inclusive environment where students are encouraged to aim high and develop confidence in their abilities.

The curriculum at KSGS extends beyond traditional academic subjects, with a rich programme that includes sports, music, drama, and arts. The school actively engages in various extracurricular activities and partnerships, such as leading the Eden Valley School Sport Partnership, which enhances physical education across local schools. Since joining the Cumbria Education Trust in December 2024, KSGS has seen increased opportunities for students, including competitions and collaborative events.
