One of my children has attended here since it opened and has been fully supported, receiving much needed help with gross and fine motor skills, plus speech and language therapy. They also teach a varied curriculum outside of special needs services that my child has always found very enjoyable. I am sure that most parents whose children attend Woodlands Meed would testify that my experience was the rule rather than the negative exceptions posted here. For the work and effort she has done for my severely autistic son, I will for ever be in her debt.\nThe Management, I think the term they use these days SLT are, well listen to my experience and draw your own conclusions.\nI have as you already know a son who is severely autistic and when his school closed the pupils or most of them were moved to Woodlands Meed and I had the pleasure of meeting, along with care professionals one of the Management. There is an old expression \"you were given two ears and one mouth so you can hear twice what you say.\" This guy had either never heard of it or chose to ignore this expression and he had an opinion on everything.\nLed into a meeting a room a power point was going on in the wall, my son attacking staff, my son causing damage my son doing something else. I couldn't believe it, not one plus things and I starred at the wall where this was getting projected. It wasn't long before he opened his mouth, \" Makes bad reading doesn't it? Who are you by the way?\" Awkward!\nMy son continued to be educated there and then six weeks before the end of term this year and without warning the school decided they aren't meeting his needs and he isn't coming back to them. Six weeks before the summer holidays hasn't given us much time to find a SEN school. Had they given us months of notice I could have looked earlier, but six weeks before the end of the school year?\nEvery school I've phoned is full. Social services have told me in their desperation about sending him to a mental asylum under section 3 mental health act as there are no places available.
