The staff has changed majorly since then so I hope that these issues aren't reoccuring.\n\nI have been diagnosed with ASD a lot later than most and have struggled with sensory issues my whole life- in year 2 I started crying because it was really loud and the noise really bothered me, my main teacher ignored that and told me to deal with it because it would be louder outside, this was on sports day which I absolutely despised. Instead of catering towards my needs and letting me sit out for a bit to calm down that teacher invalidated my needs.\nIn year 3 there was a teacher that threatened to cover a child's mouth with tape because he was crying, she left later that year so I really hope she faces some sort of charges for this and didn't just move to another school.\n\nThere was a deputy head that a lot of children- including me- were absolutely terrified of, she would scream at us and put literal children down for not doing work and being naughty- which looking back on seems very unreasonable, scaring children into doing things is so wrong on so many levels but she has also since left the school.\n\nI am also bilingual and have gotten told off for speaking in my native language to other immigrant friends, there was no real reason provided towards why and I felt oppressed because I couldn't do something from my heritage because it made some white British people uncomfortable.\n\nBullying was also dealt with horribly, they do a lot of spreading awareness on it but when I was bullied so badly that I would cry in class they would sit me with my bullies as well as pair me with them in group work to try to pressure me into telling someone until they realized that I wouldn't because I was so terrified of them that they had to pull me out and speak to me separately and schedule a meeting with them at lunch. The staff has changed majorly since then so I hope that these issues aren't reoccuring.\n\nI have been diagnosed with ASD a lot later than most and have struggled with sensory issues my whole life- in year 2 I started crying because it was really loud and the noise really bothered me, my main teacher ignored that and told me to deal with it because it would be louder outside, this was on sports day which I absolutely despised. Instead of catering towards my needs and letting me sit out for a bit to calm down that teacher invalidated my needs.\nIn year 3 there was a teacher that threatened to cover a child's mouth with tape because he was crying, she left later that year so I really hope she faces some sort of charges for this and didn't just move to another school.\n\nThere was a deputy head that a lot of children- including me- were absolutely terrified of, she would scream at us and put literal children down for not doing work and being naughty- which looking back on seems very unreasonable, scaring children into doing things is so wrong on so many levels but she has also since left the school.\n\nI am also bilingual and have gotten told off for speaking in my native language to other immigrant friends, there was no real reason provided towards why and I felt oppressed because I couldn't do something from my heritage because it made some white British people uncomfortable.\n\nBullying was also dealt with horribly, they do a lot of spreading awareness on it but when I was bullied so badly that I would cry in class they would sit me with my bullies as well as pair me with them in group work to try to pressure me into telling someone until they realized that I wouldn't because I was so terrified of them that they had to pull me out and speak to me separately and schedule a meeting with them at lunch.
