This has made it easier for me to share any concerns that I have had and feel confident that something will be done about it. My son is happy to go to school each day and has enjoyed being part of many events that have taken place throughout his first year at the school. Like any other parent, I was concerned about my child making the transition from a small primary to large secondary school. However, this has been very successful and he has made good progress in all areas of learning and development. Sims is the software the school uses that contains the students and staff medical information, addresses, special education needs, sanctions and merits. Initially all staff are assigned the same generic password as the students, and are prompted to change it to something personal that is unique and can't be guessed. The issue here is, barely any of the staff decided to change their password (the same one students are given to access the computers) thus allowing the students to access all the personal information of their peers and teachers.
When this came to light to the senior leadership team, however, they decided the best course of action was to disciple and exclude the students (most of which didn't even go on Sims, merely had the login details told to them by fellow students) instead of disciplining the staff. The students will now have limited 6th form and college opportunities due to the exclusion on their record, all due to the staff being impotent.

Again this term, the cafeteria had a 'makeover' replacing the old food bays with newer more aesthetically pleasing alternatives under the company Aspens. Now this wouldn't be an issue if the food hadn't soared by as much as 26%. (For example, small patties were initially £1.35, they are now £1.70, taking into account this isn't even considered a main meal) Moreover, the schools decisions as to where they spend their money is extremely spontaneous - some students have been on the waiting list to see a Counsellor for months, the money used for the makeover would much be better invested into that.

Overall, my time at this school has been miserable.
en
Horrendous school with terrible security and staff that doesn't investigate incidents to the full - excluding children based on accusations and no real evidence, not to mention the overpriced food and lack of counsellors.

First of all, might I mention the breach of security that took place last term on the schools Sims servers.
