I have been in academia for a number of years with plenty of teaching experience. I read at Cambridge and did well at school. I know what good quality teaching looks like. My younger sister attended Al Fatiha, and her experience was terrible; start to finish. We had issues with the attitude of the principal, the quality of staff, the curriculum and more. This is a low-grade institution masquerading itself as a place of excellence. I am not against their philosophy nor ethos, as Muslims we ought to champion such endeavours, but this does not have to come at the expense of academic rigour and quality. It is a false dichotomy and there is no such zero-sum game. I would not recommend parents who are serious about their child's education send them here at a costly expense.
