Since leaving, I have reflected and thought about my experience here, and the things I remembered are pretty disgusting. This is my experience as someone with severe anxiety issues and other disorders later discovered.\n\nDo not let your child attend this school unless you have no other choice. Ableist, no patience, teachers are barely qualified to deal with mental issues (teaching experience gained from teaching in mainstream schools, dealing with children who had lesser issues than in a specialised school), hell even some teachers allowed me to speak ill about other students at the time, even doing it with me. This school is focused more on being a mainstream school than a specialised school, there is no reason to even send your child here.\n\nI had teachers talking behind my back, downright telling me to \"grow up\" whilst dealing with an eating disorder, told me inexplicitly that I was not liked in the form of \"now we both don't have to like each other, but...\". I could not defend myself verbally due to my condition and I have a feeling they knew they could use that against me. Only on occasion would this school actually help, but this form of help was just forcing me to do things that I was deathly afraid of, pushing me in the deep end without any warning, and ignoring my distress. Even once I was bribed with money to do something I couldn't do due to my disorder (presumably because they were frustrated with it or something? As if I could control it?). One time my privacy was fully breached because 2 teachers (on seperate occasions) decided to reveal my name to students without my permission (went by a different name there due to desiring privacy).\n\nON THE OTHER HAND TEACHING WISE, I managed to get high grade GCSEs from the main subjects taught, so teaching in this school is ok. But like I've stated, why take your special needs child here when it works in the same way as a mainstream school.\n\nDon't know if anyone from this place who I knew from that time will see this review, but if you do, retire from your job, you are barely qualified. Or get trained better idk. You likely know who I am too because my name will be on this review. Since leaving, I have reflected and thought about my experience here, and the things I remembered are pretty disgusting. This is my experience as someone with severe anxiety issues and other disorders later discovered.\n\nDo not let your child attend this school unless you have no other choice. Ableist, no patience, teachers are barely qualified to deal with mental issues (teaching experience gained from teaching in mainstream schools, dealing with children who had lesser issues than in a specialised school), hell even some teachers allowed me to speak ill about other students at the time, even doing it with me. This school is focused more on being a mainstream school than a specialised school, there is no reason to even send your child here.\n\nI had teachers talking behind my back, downright telling me to \"grow up\" whilst dealing with an eating disorder, told me inexplicitly that I was not liked in the form of \"now we both don't have to like each other, but...\". I could not defend myself verbally due to my condition and I have a feeling they knew they could use that against me. Only on occasion would this school actually help, but this form of help was just forcing me to do things that I was deathly afraid of, pushing me in the deep end without any warning, and ignoring my distress. Even once I was bribed with money to do something I couldn't do due to my disorder (presumably because they were frustrated with it or something? As if I could control it?). One time my privacy was fully breached because 2 teachers (on seperate occasions) decided to reveal my name to students without my permission (went by a different name there due to desiring privacy).\n\nON THE OTHER HAND TEACHING WISE, I managed to get high grade GCSEs from the main subjects taught, so teaching in this school is ok. But like I've stated, why take your special needs child here when it works in the same way as a mainstream school.\n\nDon't know if anyone from this place who I knew from that time will see this review, but if you do, retire from your job, you are barely qualified. Or get trained better idk. You likely know who I am too because my name will be on this review.
