The Montessori approach did not work at all for the two classes our boys were in and by all accounts chaos, and violence reigned with no meaningful learning or safety or security to grow. We were told that the school would \u00e2\u0080\u009cshadow\u00e2\u0080\u009d national curriculum which is not true, it was clear that teachers did not understand our children\u00e2\u0080\u0099s academic ability\/level when questioned and stag could not quote or describe the schools reading policy, instead sighting a personal belief \/ philosophy which was vague and incomplete. Discipline was appalling, with \u00e2\u0080\u009cgood\u00e2\u0080\u009d children being singled out to be the \u00e2\u0080\u009cjudge\u00e2\u0080\u009d of others\/the group, and directly compared to others \u00e2\u0080\u009cwould XXX behave like that? We moved to the area in part for our two boys to go to this school. Whilst the concept sounds appealing and particularly the head teacher promises a lot, we have been let down on multiple fronts, including academic, social and emotional. The Montessori approach did not work at all for the two classes our boys were in and by all accounts chaos, and violence reigned with no meaningful learning or safety or security to grow. We were told that the school would \u00e2\u0080\u009cshadow\u00e2\u0080\u009d national curriculum which is not true, it was clear that teachers did not understand our children\u00e2\u0080\u0099s academic ability\/level when questioned and stag could not quote or describe the schools reading policy, instead sighting a personal belief \/ philosophy which was vague and incomplete. Discipline was appalling, with \u00e2\u0080\u009cgood\u00e2\u0080\u009d children being singled out to be the \u00e2\u0080\u009cjudge\u00e2\u0080\u009d of others\/the group, and directly compared to others \u00e2\u0080\u009cwould XXX behave like that? No they wouldn\u00e2\u0080\u0099t\u00e2\u0080\u009d which shames both the good and bad behaving children. When raising concerns with the head her response was, effectively, \u00e2\u0080\u009ctake it or leave it, we have a large waiting list\u00e2\u0080\u009d. Never usually write reviews but feel so strongly that I have a duty to warn other parents.
