The Federation Of Burley and Sopley Primary Schools - Federation Headteacher's Welcome
Federation» Federation» Our Federation» Federation Headteacher's Welcome» Federation Headteacher's Welcome It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to The Federation of Burley and Sopley Primary Schools. We are a family of two small Primary Schools, based in the villages of Ripley and Burley. Each school within our Federation has its own distinctive character, but shares a common vision, set of values and drive for excellence. We achieve more by working together, sharing expertise and resources in order to ensure every child can reach their full potential. As community schools, we not only serve the families within our catchment, but welcome children from far beyond. We aim to preserve the wonder of childhood through providing safe and stimulating environments for learning, social development, independence and personal growth. The values of Honesty, Enthusiasm, Ambition, Respect and Togetherness underpin our daily practice and we aim for all our community to model these values throughout our schools. Our Website will hopefully give you a flavour of the work we do, but if you would like further information, or to visit us, please do contact us. Mr Mathew Bowen Executive Head Teacher

Federation» Federation» Governors» About Us» About Us Governance at The Federation of Burley and Sopley Primary Schools Our governing body aims to be a supportive as well as a critical friend to the school’s leadership. The full governing body meets at least once each term, but most of our work is done in the following committees. · Safeguarding and compliance · Resources and finance · Pay · Head teacher’s performance management Governors with named responsibilities (for example, safeguarding, online safety and special educational needs) visit the schools every term and complete a record of the visit as part of our monitoring. The committees meet at least termly and report to the full governing body, which has overall responsibility for the governance of both schools. Governors attend many school events and are always happy to talk to parents. Alternatively, if you have questions or feedback, then you can contact the chair of governors through either school office. Please do note though, that if you have any specific issues regarding individual pupils or members of staff, these should be raised with the executive headteacher in the first instance.
