Education wise the school was good and occasionally the therapy team seemed to actually work really well in supporting my daughter, but they were never there long enough to make a real impact, which was really sad. I had a vegetarian staff member confiscate my meat burger. She forced me to eat a cucumber instead (which I didn't like) At chip shops we were only allowed small chips. I was banned from the IT room and going out several times. Staff refused to serve me cake just because I had refused to wear a coat. Staff wear a uniform and the night staff's 2-way radio's often wake the pupils up. I was not allowed to mention my obsessions. There are sometimes no latex-free gloves in units yet there are students and\/or staff allergic to latex. I wasn't allowed sun cream as my skin wasn't sensitive. Management started off good, but after many safeguarding failures and high turnover of staff, the entire experience was really not good and at times extremely dangerous. There were some actually really good, caring individuals but they were treated badly by higher management. Education wise the school was good and occasionally the therapy team seemed to actually work really well in supporting my daughter, but they were never there long enough to make a real impact, which was really sad. In my opinion the school, in its environment could have been amazing but it\u00e2\u0080\u0099s run by profit hungry people who see our children as cash cows and have little interest in delivering great care and outcomes for them. Social care teams put up with all the issues because there are no other options in the area for complex children with autism. It is so sad. I was hugely relieved when my daughter left( thing to note: the Cambian group were very unsupportive to us when her transition to adult provision, was to be delayed and were happy to make her homeless). Staff kept discontinuing my creams. Staff trimmed pupils' nails barehanded. When I went to a b'day party, everyone was allowed chips except for me. I had a vegetarian staff member confiscate my meat burger. She forced me to eat a cucumber instead (which I didn't like) At chip shops we were only allowed small chips. I was banned from the IT room and going out several times. Staff refused to serve me cake just because I had refused to wear a coat. Staff wear a uniform and the night staff's 2-way radio's often wake the pupils up. I was not allowed to mention my obsessions. There are sometimes no latex-free gloves in units yet there are students and\/or staff allergic to latex. I wasn't allowed sun cream as my skin wasn't sensitive.
