Bassenthwaite Primary School

Bassenthwaite Primary School is a mixed community school located in the picturesque village of Bassenthwaite, near Keswick, within the Lake District National Park. With a current enrolment of 36 pupils and a capacity of 49, the school fosters a close-knit environment that encourages high standards of learning and behaviour. As part of the Keswick Multi Academy Trust since January 2018, the school is committed to providing a supportive and caring atmosphere for children from Nursery through to Year 6.

The curriculum at Bassenthwaite is designed to be broad and ambitious, tailored to meet the interests and needs of the students. OFSTED's latest inspection in April 2022 rated the school as 'Good', highlighting that pupils enjoy their learning and benefit from a well-structured curriculum that helps them retain knowledge over time. In addition to its academic offerings, Bassenthwaite Primary provides full wraparound care from 8 am to 5 pm, along with various after-school clubs.
