I had a few minor issues for example how the reception children play in the big play ground, with all the other years at lunch time. But nothing that made me question, if this is the right school for my son until today.\nIt is not one thing that led me to writing this poor but honest review about what I think of the school but a series of events.\n\nIn year one my son was given a two teachers in his class one was a supply teacher, throughout the year my son did not really learn anything in fact he actually dropped a level in english. By the end of the year on his school report he had a 'needs improving' compared to last years above expected. I understand work needs to be done at home with children which I did, reading and homework was done and handed in on time. I also did extra work with him. I only attended one meeting with my sons year two class teacher. But to be honest what she said to me in that meeting wasn't constructive, no advice on improvement.\n\nThis school has poor management- from the head teacher not getting his story straight before he speaks to me, to poor time management from staff taking children to classes in the morning 10 minutes after school has started! Poor organisation- like how the gas supply had stopped and they couldn't serve hot dinners, so they offered packed lunch except my son did not receive his why? Not sure which leads me to lack of communication between staff and parents, I am still waiting for my sons class teacher to phone me back to why he did not receive his lunch.....\n\nParents word of warning if your child is at this school and you have doubts about the school-leave, I waited the whole of year one for things to improve and I have really tried because my son loves his friends but now first day of year two, I know for sure this school is not good enough for my son. This school will not help my son be the best that he can be. This school needs improvement.\n\nThe above review was written in September 2017.\nTodays review is 15th November 2017 and I am not changing my rating of the school simply because It took me a year to get to the stage of writing that review and I think I need more time to make an honest opinion.\n\nHowever I will add some positive things about the school firstly is their breakfast club, my son absolutely loves it, he loves attending when he doesn't go he is sad, they do activities and of course they have a decent choice of breakfast and the staff there are really good with the children.\n\nSecondly the After school club run by Grass Roots again the staff there make it great, the wide choice of activities I only wish that they ran during the half terms!\n\nLastly I want to pick up on something that the school and the students there should be really proud of; there has been many a times I have walked past a group of school children and they can be loud, maybe a bit boisterous, pushing shoving etc you know how most kids are 'these' days. But not when you walk past students from Prince of Wales, almost every morning I walk past kids from all age groups from the school and every single child is so well behaved. I walked past a group of year six students a few times this week, (at least I think they are in year six, they were wearing the black jumpers) and they were calm and actually pleasant to walk past. So definitely well done to the school students for showing great behaviours and being a role model to other schools!","languageCode":"en"},"originalText":{"text":"This review is based on my personal experience with Prince of Wales Primary School.\n\nThink twice before sending your child to this school.\n\nMy son currently attends this school he is in year two. he had a brilliant year in reception, learned loads and moved up two tables and was currently sitting on the top table (Elmers) my sons teacher was fantastic she communicated with me throughout the year as he had difficulty settling in.
